At Manthan Foundation, Project SHE is built on a simple yet powerful belief- access to menstrual health education is a right, not a privilege. The initiative focuses on creating awareness, breaking deep-rooted taboos, and empowering women and girls with the knowledge they need to manage their health with dignity.
Through structured menstrual awareness sessions in rural communities, we engage directly with women and adolescent girls to discuss topics often considered sensitive or overlooked. These sessions cover menstrual hygiene practices, health education, myth-busting conversations, and access to safe and sustainable solutions. By creating a safe and open environment, we encourage dialogue that helps normalize menstruation and remove stigma.
Currently, Project SHE is actively working in five villages of Jaunpur, where it has already touched the lives of over 2,000 women and girls. The impact goes beyond awareness – participants report increased confidence, better hygiene practices, and a stronger sense of self-worth.
Our approach is community-driven and sustainable. We aim to not only educate individuals but also influence families and communities to adopt healthier, more informed attitudes towards menstrual health.
Project SHE is more than an awareness program – it is a step towards dignity, equality, and improved health outcomes, ensuring that no woman or girl is held back due to lack of knowledge or societal barriers.
