Project Sachet is Manthan Foundation’s community-based cancer awareness initiative focused on improving awareness of cervical cancer and breast cancer among women and adolescent girls in underserved communities across Uttar Pradesh. Despite being among the most common cancers affecting Indian women, awareness, screening, and early detection remain critically low.
Breast cancer accounts for over 1.9 lakh new cases annually in India, while cervical cancer affects more than 1.2 lakh women every year, making them the two leading cancers among Indian women.
Through community outreach, awareness sessions, health education campaigns, and referral support, Project Sachet aims to empower women with knowledge about cancer prevention, symptoms, screening, and early detection. In 2026, the programme aims to directly reach 10,000 women across rural and underserved communities, helping reduce stigma, encourage timely health-seeking behaviour, and improve access to life-saving information.
By promoting awareness and preventive action, Project Sachet seeks to ensure that more women can detect cancer early, access treatment on time, and lead healthier, more informed lives.
