A Dialogue on Womanhood and Modern Society| March 2025
As part of Women’s Month celebrations, Kalamanthan organised a special literary and discussion forum dedicated to exploring the evolving realities of womanhood in contemporary society. The event brought together students, writers, professionals, and community members for thoughtful conversations on gender equality, mental health, consumerism, and the growing disconnect between empowerment and performative feminism.
Through poetry, literature, personal narratives, and open dialogue, participants examined important questions around distorted interpretations of feminism, the influence of consumer culture on women’s empowerment, societal expectations, and the importance of emotional well-being. The gathering provided a safe and inclusive space for diverse perspectives, encouraging participants to move beyond stereotypes and engage with the deeper values of equality, dignity, and mutual respect.
The event reflected Kalamanthan’s commitment to fostering meaningful conversations that challenge assumptions, promote critical thinking, and inspire positive social change through literature and dialogue.
